Polyester swabs are used within conformal coating processes to control, correct, and refine applied coatings at a local level. They enable precise solvent application to targeted areas without disturbing surrounding features, supporting accurate rework and repeatable results.
Within production environments, operators use polyester swabs primarily during rework and defect correction. Typical applications include removing excess coating, refining edges, and reworking lifted conformal coating where controlled solvent interaction is required.
They are particularly effective for re-bonding lifted coating edges, where a solvent-dampened swab is used to soften and reflow the coating locally, allowing it to settle back into position without introducing further defects.
