Why Choose Parylene F / AF-4 Dimer?

  • Very Low Dielectric Constant – suited to RF, high-speed digital, MEMS, semiconductor and other electrically sensitive applications.
  • Enhanced Thermal Stability – fluorinated chemistry supports use in more demanding thermal environments than standard Parylene grades.
  • Improved UV & Environmental Resistance – selected where harsher operating conditions or extended exposure performance matter.
  • Controlled & Traceable Supply – supported by technical documentation, batch traceability, and independent SGS screening.

Typical Parylene F / AF-4 Applications

Parylene F is typically selected when standard grades are not sufficient from a dielectric, temperature, or environmental resistance perspective.

  • Semiconductor and advanced packaging applications
  • MEMS and precision sensor assemblies
  • Optoelectronic modules and high-performance electronics
  • Medical devices requiring thin-film protection in demanding environments
  • Aerospace and other high-reliability systems
  • Research and development programmes involving advanced fluorinated coatings

Material Specification Summary

SCH Parylene F dimer is supplied as a high-purity solid precursor for chemical vapour deposition (CVD) processes.

  • Main component purity: ≥ 98%
  • Controlled isomer distribution
  • Loss on drying: ≤ 0.5%
  • Melting point: 320 ±5°C
  • Appearance: Off-white to white powder
  • Structure: Lamellar crystalline form

The material is supplied to support stable sublimation behaviour, consistent vapour phase deposition, and reproducible coating performance. Its fluorinated structure supports improved high-temperature stability and environmental resistance compared with standard Parylene grades.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

Parylene F dimer supplied by SCH is supported by controlled documentation and independent screening data for customers working in regulated, technical, and high-reliability sectors.

  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS) prepared in line with REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, CLP Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, and Regulation (EU) 2020/878
  • Independent SGS screening covering REACH SVHC and RoHS compliance
  • Batch-level traceability with Certificate of Conformance (CoC)
  • Supporting technical documentation available for customer review and qualification work

This supports supplier review, quality documentation, and qualification processes, but final application suitability and regulatory acceptance must still be confirmed by the customer within their own process and end-use requirements.

Independent SGS Verification – Parylene F / AF-4

Independent third-party testing has been carried out by SGS to assess chemical compliance for SCH Parylene F dimer.

  • REACH SVHC screening: tested in line with the latest ECHA Candidate List (253 substances) with all substances reported at ≤ 0.1% (w/w) – PASS
  • Additional SVHC monitoring: additional potential high-concern substances screened with all reported at ≤ 0.1% (w/w) – PASS
  • RoHS (EU Directive 2015/863): all restricted substances below specified limits – PASS

This supports the compliance position for customers assessing fluorinated Parylene materials for demanding electronics, medical, aerospace, semiconductor, and other advanced applications.

PFOS / PFOA: not included in the current standard test package. Additional testing can be provided on request where required by the application or customer compliance route.

Independent SGS data supports the material compliance position shown here. Full underlying reports and summary documents can be provided as supporting references.

Traceability, Packaging & Supply Control

  • Batch-based identification and controlled supply
  • Certificate of Conformance supplied with each batch
  • Documentation retained and available on request
  • Controlled packaging designed to minimise moisture ingress
  • UK stockholding to support continuity of supply
  • Standard packs: 10 g, 50 g, 100 g and 1 kg, with other pack formats available on request
