How to identify the current Vaniman ProBlast VanAcrylic media-delivery setup
If you use VanAcrylic media in a Vaniman ProBlast system, particularly an older ESD configuration, it is worth checking that the machine has the latest media-delivery arrangement.
Vaniman completed development work during 2026 to improve VanAcrylic media flow and reduce the blockage problems experienced with earlier configurations. The revised arrangement includes changes to the manifold tube, jet fitting and manifold cap, together with clearer guidance on the correct media fill level.

What Changed in the VanAcrylic Configuration?
The development work concentrated on achieving more stable VanAcrylic media delivery through the ProBlast system while reducing the tendency for the media path to block.
For a current VanAcrylic setup, check that the system is using the correct VanAcrylic tank and media together with the appropriate tip. The 2026 development work also revised internal media-delivery components.

The important point is that the objective was not simply to maximise the amount of media leaving the nozzle. The aim was to provide sufficient, repeatable VanAcrylic flow for controlled coating removal without the repeated blockage behaviour seen with earlier configurations.
Why Was the Configuration Revised?
VanAcrylic is used where a relatively gentle and controlled blasting process is required. Its behaviour through a micro-abrasive blasting system is therefore different from more aggressive or more freely flowing blasting media.
Earlier trials showed that media delivery could become inconsistent and that blockages could occur. When SCH tested a newer hopper revision in June 2026, the blockage behaviour was substantially improved. During approximately 25 minutes of testing, only one blockage occurred and it was cleared immediately without dismantling the system.
Subsequent customer testing of the modified arrangement also reported no blockage problems while successfully removing coating around QFP components.
How Do I Know If I Have the Latest Version?
1. Check the VanAcrylic tank
The current VanAcrylic tank has a clearly marked VanAcrylic fill line that is visible to the operator. This provides an immediate visual check that the correct tank is installed and identifies the intended media fill level.
2. Check the blasting tip
The VanAcrylic setup uses the violet 0.059 tip. This is another straightforward visual check when reviewing the machine configuration.
3. Check the media
Confirm that the system is loaded with the correct VanAcrylic blasting media. The VanAcrylic setup should be considered as a combination of the correct media, tank, fill level, tip and media-delivery hardware rather than any one component in isolation.
4. Confirm the internal manifold revision
Vaniman revised the manifold tube, jet fitting and manifold cap during the 2026 development work. These components cannot necessarily be distinguished reliably from earlier versions by appearance alone. If the revision is unknown, SCH can help confirm the configuration from the machine serial number and supply history.
5. Check the machine history
If the machine or VanAcrylic conversion predates the 2026 development work, or you have previously received a revised hopper, manifold or VanAcrylic upgrade from SCH or Vaniman, provide the approximate supply date when asking us to check the configuration.

My Media Flow Looks Very Low โ Does That Mean Something Is Wrong?
Not necessarily.
During customer trials with the modified hopper, the operator commented that visually there appeared to be very little grit leaving the nozzle. Despite this, the system was still able to clear coating around the test components successfully.
In one trial the discharged media was collected for one minute and measured at approximately 2.5 g. This should be treated as a trial observation rather than a universal VanAcrylic flow specification, but it demonstrates an important point:
The useful measure is whether the media is being delivered consistently and whether the required coating removal can be achieved in a controlled manner.
Should I Increase the Air Pressure If the Flow Looks Low?
Do not automatically increase pressure simply because the visible VanAcrylic flow appears low.
During the customer trial described above, air pressure was varied between approximately 50 and 80 psi without an obvious difference in the observed media flow.
This does not mean that compressed-air pressure is unimportant. The ProBlast still requires the correct air supply and operating conditions. It means that increasing pressure is not necessarily the solution to a VanAcrylic media-delivery problem.
If a machine repeatedly blocks or loses media flow, establish first whether the correct VanAcrylic configuration is fitted.
Signs That Your Configuration Is Worth Checking
We recommend confirming the system configuration if you are experiencing:
- repeated VanAcrylic blockages
- media delivery that repeatedly stops or becomes intermittent
- blockages requiring regular dismantling or intervention
- a change in behaviour after replacing the hopper or media-delivery components
- an older VanAcrylic system with no obvious tank fill marking
- uncertainty over whether an upgrade has previously been fitted
- uncertainty over the revision of the manifold tube, jet fitting or manifold cap
These symptoms do not prove that the machine has an older configuration. Air supply, media condition, filling, maintenance and other factors can also affect blasting performance. They are simply good reasons to establish the hardware configuration first.
Do Not Judge VanAcrylic Like a Conventional Abrasive
VanAcrylic is normally selected where a gentler and more controlled removal process is required. The objective is therefore not to create the most aggressive blast possible.
A relatively modest-looking media stream can still remove conformal coating effectively when the equipment and nozzle technique are correct. If removal is taking longer than expected, investigate the complete setup before assuming that more pressure or more media is required.

- the serial number
- the approximate purchase or installation date
- a photograph of the complete machine
- a clear photograph of the VanAcrylic tank or hopper
- a photograph showing the fill-line marking, if present
- photographs of the manifold and media-feed area
- a photograph of the nozzle or jet assembly
- the VanAcrylic grade currently being used
- a short description of the problem, such as blockage, intermittent flow, low apparent flow or slow coating removal

Should I Order Replacement Parts Before Checking?

Because the manifold tube, jet fitting and manifold cap were revised as part of the VanAcrylic development work, ordering a replacement component based only on the description of an older machine risks selecting an inappropriate revision.
Confirming the serial number and installed components first allows the correct current parts to be identified.
