Description

VanAcrylic 80/100 grit is a purpose-engineered thermoset plastic micro-abrasive designed specifically for electronics rework. It delivers fast, controlled removal of Parylene and liquid conformal coatings from printed circuit boards while protecting sensitive components, solder joints, and solder resist.

Developed for use with the Vaniman ProBlast 3 ESD, VanAcrylic combines stable electrostatic control with uniform particle sizing to provide predictable removal rates, repeatable results, and a significantly lower risk of substrate damage compared with mineral abrasives such as aluminium oxide.

Why choose VanAcrylic?

  • Electronics-grade media β€” formulated for PCB rework, not general blasting
  • ESD-controlled performance when used with ProBlast 3 ESD
  • Uniform 80/100 grit for consistent removal behaviour
  • Lower surface aggressiveness than aluminium oxide
  • Solvent-free process β€” avoids chemical handling and disposal
  • Clean, predictable results across acrylic, urethane, silicone and Parylene

Typical applications

  • Parylene rework and selective removal
  • Conformal coating stripping for inspection or repair
  • Exposing test points, pads or vias
  • Localised rework around connectors and fine-pitch components
  • Pre-inspection cleaning after coating failure analysis

IMPORTANT NOTE ON USAGE: For best performance with a Vaniman sandblaster, use VanAcrylic in the 50–100 Β΅m sand tank with a large violet nozzle tip on the handpiece. Other combinations may lead to blockage or poor blasting performance.

Pack sizes

  • 1 lb bag β€” ideal for trials, small jobs, or first fills
  • 5 lb bag β€” cost-effective for routine production use
  • 30 lb bag β€” best value for higher-volume users

Recommended system pairing

For the cleanest, safest, and most repeatable results, use VanAcrylic media with the Vaniman ProBlast 3 ESD Complete System (ProBlast + StoneVac II). This gives you:

  • Stable ESD control during blasting
  • Consistent airflow and media delivery
  • HEPA dust capture at source
  • Cleaner workspace and safer operator environment
  • Turnkey setup with matched components
