Dry, Remove, Inspect and Measure Conformal Coating & Parylene

Specialist equipment for conformal coating and Parylene process control

SCH Services provides specialist equipment that supports conformal coating, Parylene and nano coating processes. From inspection and drying to coating removal and thickness measurement, these tools help improve process control, support rework and provide practical production support across electronics, aerospace, automotive and medical manufacturing.

This equipment is used within our own conformal coating services and is supported by our training and consultancy programmes to help customers establish controlled, repeatable processes.

Inspection Equipment

IB100 & IB101 Inspection Booths

Controlled inspection environments help operators identify coating defects such as skips, bubbles and areas of incomplete coverage. The IB100 and IB101 booths provide controlled UVA and white-light illumination for conformal coating inspection.

  • 365 nm UVA illumination for fluorescent coating visibility
  • Controlled white-light illumination for visual inspection
  • Extraction connections provided; site extraction / LEV is application dependent
  • Production-proven design used within SCH

Drying & Curing Systems

DC100 Drying Cabinet

Controlled drying conditions can help reduce contamination and support repeatable post-application processing. The DC100 provides a dedicated enclosed environment for drying suitable liquid coating processes.

  • Enclosed drying environment
  • 150 mm extraction connection; site extraction / LEV is application dependent
  • Dedicated post-application drying area for process control

Coating Removal Equipment

Selective rework and larger-area removal can support repair, modification, refurbishment and failure-analysis workflows across conformal coating and Parylene processes.

Vaniman Problast Systems

Vaniman Master Problast ESD systems use controlled micro-abrasive blasting for selective coating and Parylene removal from electronic assemblies.

  • Problast 3 ESD โ€“ precision removal for standard PCB assemblies

Dust collection: Vaniman Problast systems require suitable dust collection during blasting. SCH currently supplies the Vaniman StoneVac II as our standard dust-collection configuration.

WS100 Wet Stripping System

Designed for controlled wet stripping of compatible liquid-applied conformal coatings during refurbishment and larger-area removal processes.

  • Multi-stage stripping workflow
  • Integrated process lighting
  • Controlled wet stripping process
  • 150 mm extraction connection for integration with site extraction / LEV where required by the stripping chemistry

Extraction / LEV: Where the WS100 is used with solvent-based stripping materials, suitable site extraction / LEV is required. Required system performance depends on the stripping chemistry, process and workplace.

Thickness Measurement Systems

Thickness measurement can support process control, validation and specification compliance. SCH provides optical, eddy current and wet film measurement solutions for different coating and substrate conditions.

  • Optical systems โ€“ non-contact measurement for suitable thin-film coatings and substrates
  • Eddy current gauges โ€“ thickness measurement on suitable conductive substrates
  • Wet film gauges โ€“ direct wet-film measurement during suitable liquid coating processes

Training & Process Support

Equipment alone does not establish the complete process. SCH supports implementation through structured training and consultancy, helping customers develop stable, repeatable processes around their equipment and materials.

For ultra-thin coating strategies and material selection, explore our advanced functional coatings platform. This provides a structured overview of nano coating technologies, performance characteristics and when each approach may be appropriate.

Need Help Selecting Support Equipment?

SCH can help review the wider coating process and identify suitable equipment for drying, inspection, coating removal and thickness measurement.

Send us details of your coating material, PCB assembly, process stage, production requirement and the problem you are trying to solve.

Disclaimer: Equipment suitability depends on the material, process, assembly and workplace conditions. Individual machine specifications and configurations should be confirmed for the intended application. Where extraction / LEV is required, the appropriate site system and performance should be determined for the actual materials, process and workplace. Vaniman Problast systems should be operated with the manufacturer-recommended dust-collection arrangement.
