Conformal Coating Drying Cabinets

DC100 Conformal Coating Drying Cabinet

The DC100 floor standing drying cabinet is designed specifically for practical conformal coating air temperature drying for printed circuit boards (PCBs).

Designed to be used in conjunction with conformal coating application equipment, this compactly designed system offers an enclosed extraction area for protecting newly coated PCBs from contamination during the drying process whilst safely removing excess solvents through the attached exhaust.

The DC100 has the following standard features:

• Removable and fully height adjustable enclosed mesh shelves for hanging PCBs individually or holding trays of conformal coated boards

• Unique extraction pathway behind shelving to allow free flowing air throughout the system even when the DC100 is completely full with conformal coated PCBs

• Single 150 mm diameter spigot inlet for connection to suitable extraction system (not supplied)

• Externally Powder Coated framework to give lasting cosmetic finish.

Conformal Coating & Drying

Drying of conformal coating is dependent on the confromal coatingl type used.

For instance, solvent based acrylic coatings generally have a three stage drying mechanism. This is tack free, dry enough to handle and fully cured to optimum properties.Timescales vary depending on factors such as coating type, extraction rates, temperature of the coating room and thickness of conformal Coating application.

The most critical factors for drying of conformal coating is that the coating dries in a dust free environment and that any residual solvents are extracted safely.
